Called the “sweetest little jump band you’ll ever want to hear,” the concert will feature KCKCC Dean of Business and Continuing Education Dr. Marvin Hunt on guitar and vocals and his wife, Cathy, who has performed professionally as a vocalist since the 1980’s and has traveled extensively in Europe and the U.S. both as a vocalist and music teacher.
Nationally known recording artist Danny Cox will open the concert at 7 p.m. Self-described as “Dotte on the Spot,” Cox has been a mainstay on the folk music scene in the Midwest for more than 40 years.

Marvin Hunt’s musical career includes performances and recordings with the Kelley Hunt Band, Lee McBee, The Stringers and other well-known regional artists.
“We play a variety of jump blues, mambos and a few rockabilly greats,” says Hunt. The Hunt’s will be joined by Jason Jones on the Doghouse bass, Tommy Wagner on guitar and Paul Matthews on drums.
A folk singer and songwriter best known for his 1974 LP album “Feel So Good” Danny Cox has been a fixture in Kansas City since 1963. As a youth growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio, Cox sang in a church together with Rudolph Iseley and started his professional career on a Hootenanny Folk Tour in the 1960’s.
He has since recorded albums for ABC Dunhill, Casablanca, MGM and others and is partnered in Good Karma Productions run by Vanguard Coffee House owner Stan Plesser. In addition, Cox writes jingles and works with children’s theaters.
