The Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department is investigating a fire from Tuesday morning that caused $17,500 worth of damage at 1426 S. 41st Street.
Kansas City, Kan., firefighters responded to the scene just after 10 a.m.
According to KCK Fire Department battalion chief Craig Duke, everyone had evacuated from the home prior to the department arriving.
"Crews informed all occupants were out of the structure and accounted for," Duke said. "Crews located fire in a bedroom area that had spread to other parts of the house. Fire was knocked down within 15 minutes."
The Wyandotte County Red Cross was called to assist five adults and six children, ranging from the age of three-months to nine years old.
No one was injured in the fire.
Though the fire remains under investigation, it's suspected that a candle caused the fire.
