After a month of being open, the Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway is already bringing in significant money to the governing cities of Wyandotte County.

According to the Unified Government, Kansas City, Kansas brought in $337,944.79 worth of gaming revenue in the casino’s first full month of operation.

Meanwhile, the City of Bonner Springs received $70,810.70 and Edwardsville received $41,837.56 based on the county’s inter-local agreement regarding casino dollars.

Recently, checks were presented to the cities.

"This is a historic day for Wyandotte County,” said Clausie Smith, Mayor of Bonner Springs. “I doubt that you will find this level of cooperation anywhere else. I firmly believe that whatever is good for Bonner Springs is good for Edwardsville and the Unified Government.”

In its first month of operation, the Hollywood Casino generated over $15 million worth of revenue.
