According to the Sunshine Review, the Unified Government’s Website is
one of Top 200 Websites in the nation when it comes to local government.
The organization examined over 6,000 separate Websites across the
nation and evaluated them on a 10-point checklist of items in connection
to transparency.
It’s one of just seven local governments in Kansas to receive an award.
“We’re constantly communicating and working collaboratively with the IT
Department to provide easy access to useful information for residents
who want to know more about their local government,” said Public
Information Officer, Edwin Birch. “We are honored to receive a Sunny
Award and committed to continuing efforts to ensure transparency by
providing the necessary information to keep our citizens informed.”
The Unified Government received an “A” from the study.
